A bit about me

Retirement from my past life suits me.

I worked in Communication for a pension administrator for 35 years. Through that time, I had many, many great ideas but none of the power to put those ideas into practice. Even when my ideas were implemented, the number of cooks in the kitchen was enough to make your head spin. How does a creative person maintain the creative spark while working for a bureaucracy?

For me, it meant taking up an art form that was not expressed in writing or in words. It meant making something out of nothing.

I have been learning about mosaics for about 15 years now. My first piece was an awful daisy on a plate. Happily, I found a real instructor in Margo Anton. She was able to teach me about the mechanics of the medium as well as help me to express myself in my work. I've graduated to glass on glass, marble, smalti and found objects.
